KAMAZ faktory was established in 1969 as Kama Complex of
Plants to produce heavy-duty trucks (Production Association
KAMAZ). In 1990, PA KAMAZ was reorganized into a joint-stock
company.
The first vehicle came off the mother gathering conveyor on February 16,
1976. Since then, over 1.9 million vehicles and about 2.6 million engines
have been produced. KAMAZ vehicles are used in more than 80 countries.
They are easy-to-maintain and reliable trucks of high quality with low
operation costs and at most competitive prices. Today, the two millionth
truck has rolled off the conveyor of the automobile enterprise KAMAZ.
The KAMAZ company has been participating in rallies on very reliable
and strong vehicle with high performance characteristics suitable even for
extremely bad off-roads since 2003. Reinforced KAMAZ trucks are used by
the Russian army.
The KamAZ-4310 general utility truck is produced since 1980. It is
a militarized version of commercial vehicle. Since it's introduction the
KamAZ trucks become the work horse of the Russian military.This military
truck has a conventional layout, with a front-mounted engine and a forward
control cab. An all-metal cab provides seating for the driver and two
passengers. A baseline version of the KamAZ-4310 has a general troop/
cargo body with folding-down sides and tailgate. It's cargo area is covered
with removable bows and canvas cover. However this military truck is also
available with a number of body styles. The KamAZ-4310 is powered by
a YaMZ-740 10.85-liter V8 diesel engine, developing 210 hp. This military
truck is fitted with a central tyre pressure system. A self-recovery winch was
fitted to some models.
